Application of phased array technology on corrosion mapping for petroleum facilities
Abstract
Corrosion mapping is an effective way of finding, revealing and measuring corrosion, erosion, pitting, doubling, and delamination or of mapping the whole wall thickness. Using the Phased-Array technique, the effectiveness of corrosion mapping is signifi cantly enhanced. This paper presents the principles of the Phased Array technology and the application of the innovation for corrosion mapping for equipment used in the petroleum industry.
