Recovery of copper from spent catalyst of low temperature water gas shift from Phu My fertilizer plant
Abstract
The paper presents the results of leaching CuO-ZnO-Al2O3 spent catalyst of low temperature water gas shift by acid and then electrodepositing the leaching solution to recover copper. It was found that the suitable conditions for copper leaching from low temperature water gas shift’s spent catalyst are at 50oC with 1M H2SO4 and solid/liquid ratio of 5%. Copper was totally recovered after 7 hours with a current density of 3.5A/dm2.
