Implementation of innovative technology solutions to enhance production development and extend exploration in Dai Hung field, Block 05-1a, Nam Con Son basin
Abstract
The development plan for Dai Hung field (Block 05-1a) faced many difficulties due to its marginal size, complex structures compartmentalised by a heavy faulting system, large initial investment and harsh weather conditions. During the first phase of development, foreign operators have withdrawn from the project as a result of unfavourable investment return. To ensure safe operation and economic efficiency of the Dai Hung field, the Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) has conducted researches and applied innovative scientific and technological solutions to continue maintaining production at the field efficiently. The paper summarised the application results of innovative scientific and technological solutions to enhance production development and extend exploration in the Dai Hung field since the project operatorship was transferred to PVEP in October 2003.
