Research and update of guidelines for selection, storage, use and disposal of chemicals in oil and gas activities
Abstract
The oil and gas sector uses a wide variety of chemicals, it is therefore necessary to apply measures to improve the efficiency of chemical use and ensure environmental safety, while minimising the risks related to incidents caused by chemicals.
On the basis of reviewing the guidelines on implementing environmental protection regulations relating to the use and disposal ofchemicals and drilling fluids in offshore oil and gas activities in Vietnam; and updating the provisions of the laws of Vietnam and the world experiences, the authors propose measures for selection, storage, use and disposal of chemicals in oil and gas activities.
